This App allows any citizen to dematerialise their identification documents, especially their identity card, driver’s licence and ADSE card.The id.gov.pt app was released by the Administrative Modernisation Agency (AMA) and implemented by Nexllence, powered by Glintt, in the scope of the administrative simplification and modernisation by the Portuguese Government.

Nexllence participated in this project as a technological partner. Its role was crucial to the development of platform that allows the interoperability (data exchange) between all public entities, as well as to the creation of a single digital authentication mechanism for Government agencies and private companies.

Examples are the Digital Mobile Key, used for authentication on websites such as AT – Autoridade Tributária e Aduaneira, mySNS, Millennium BCP, EDP, BMW Financial Services and many other public and private entities.

These identification documents will become available on smartphones, meaning that citizens can finally leave their documents at home (or even their wallets, if they choose to use digital payment methods, such as MB Way).​

This project has the potential to impact the entire Portuguese population. This is a reference national project in the area of the digital transformation of the public administration that can be replicated worldwide as a best practice.
