With more than 15 years of partnership, Nexllence, powered by Glintt, and Oracle have been building a solid, long-lasting relationship based on multiple successful projects designed and traded by Nexllence using Oracle’s products and solutions.
This platform was developed to mediate the relationships between pharmacies, laboratories and distributors. Its biggest challenge was to support the medicine market, which connects the entire logistics chain, to respond to critical and legal processes in the healthcare sector. All processes concerning medicine sales and the Pharmacy-Supplier interaction are now managed by Nexllence’s Middleware, based on the Oracle SOA Suite, supported by Oracle’s Cloud-at-Customer infrastructure. The last winning category was the OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) with the B2B Platform – Middleware Oracle (SOA and API Platform) used in the Project “Counterfeit Drugs“, having been awarded with the “Partner of the Year” award for the third time in a row.
This solution is currently processing more than 71 million transactions/month, covering 100% of Suppliers and 90% of Pharmacies and supporting all the critical processes of more than 2500 Portuguese Pharmacies.
The Directive on Medicines Directive (FMD) 2011/62/EU, which became effective in February 2019, sets forth a number of standardised European security features to prevent falsified medicines to enter the logistic chains. With this Directive, logistics and wholesale partners felt the need to implement a system that would allow to verify, remove or re-enter packages, associated to the national Hub of their respective country.
The winning project “Counterfeit Drugs“ responds to this directive and aims to prevent companies from selling falsified Medicine.
With the implementation of this solution, Nexllence responded to this directive effectively, by adding value to the medicine logistics chain and implementing a service that warns pharmacies beforehand on the status of medicine packages before those very packages are sold to end customers. This prevents undesirable non-conformity warnings from being known by users. All processes concerning medicine sales and Pharmacy-Supplier interactions are processed by Nexllence’s Middleware, based on the Oracle SOA Suite, supported by Oracle’s Cloud @ Customer solutions.
